FORMULATION

Formulation is the crucial step in the production of a drug, where all the pieces of the puzzle fit together to create a safe and effective final product. This is where the active ingredient is combined with excipients (inert substances) to create the desired pharmaceutical form.

When the patent for a given drug expires, there is a great effort by the pharmaceutical industry to try to obtain a differentiated product that is effective, increases patient adherence to treatment and can be truly competitive in the market. Thus, the development of innovative formulations is an increasingly evident need in the pharmaceutical industry.

Equipment

The formulation stage involves a series of unit processes such as mixing , to ensure dose uniformity, granulation, which improves flow properties, and powder compression, which ensures the formation of uniformly sized granules, compression , to shape tablets, drying, tablet coating and more.

With so many processes within the formulation process, it is necessary to have the right tools available in the laboratory. To this end, Deinfar has specialized facilities and cutting-edge equipment to perform each of the functions required for each unit process. In this way, we are committed to delivering a high-quality product to our customers and partners.

Compressing Machine

A tabletting machine is a mechanical piece of equipment widely used in the pharmaceutical industry, designed to compress powders or granules into solid tablets of various shapes. This device consists of a set of dies and punches that, through precise compression movements, shape the material into uniformly compacted particles.

Rheometer

The rheometer is an essential piece of equipment in the development of solid pharmaceutical forms. It traces the rheological profile of the compound and facilitates the granulation process, which is crucial for improving the characteristics of pharmaceutical powders, such as density, porosity, fluidity and compaction.

Micronizer

In the pharmaceutical industry, a micronizer is used to reduce the particle size of active ingredients and excipients, reaching the micrometer range. Thus, we obtain increased dissolution, bioavailability, mixing uniformity, improved solubility and release control.

Spheronizer

Widely used in the pharmaceutical industry, the spheronizer is used in the manufacturing process of solid pharmaceutical forms such as tablets. This equipment was designed to transform powder or granulated particles into spheres or rounded shapes. This technology is used to improve the fluidity, uniformity and quality of the final products.

Fluidized Bed

A fluidized bed is a processing system in which solid particles are suspended in a gas stream that causes them to behave like a fluid, and is widely used in the pharmaceutical industry. This hot air stream allows for rapid and uniform drying of particles. In addition, with a fluidized bed, particles can be coated with substances such as polymers to modify their properties, such as controlled release.

Extruder

An extruder is a machine that uses compressive force to transform raw materials, usually powders or granules, into products with a specific shape and structure. This process involves forcing the material through a die or mold to obtain the desired shape.
